After a battle with cancer, Damian Gardiner has passed away. Damian was not only an incredible rider, he was also an amazing person and one of the best teachers. After spending years on the circuit, many of us were lucky enough to watch him ride and be entertained by his outgoing personality.

Most people know who Damian is from his time spent on Ireland’s team in the 1996 Olympics and from his famous mount Arthos. Damian has also had many incredible and memorable rounds in Spruce Meadows. Many of these heart-warming moments can be found on Spruce’s Youtube channel.

The past few months many people in the equestrian community have come together, raising money for Damian, his battle, and now to ensure he makes it back to Ireland to lay at rest with his family. Go Fund Me.

Losses in the equestrian community are always tough. Please keep everyone affected by this loss in your hearts.
